In the later half of 2018, I started to realize that my prolonged stay in Shanghai after graduating was slowly but surely coming to an end, and I had to start thinking about what to do next even though I wasn't all that ready to let go of Shanghai quite yet. I did a lot of walking around Shanghai, and I made more attempts to travel on weekend trips (whereas before I thought they were too much of a hassle), and so you'll see a miscellaneous group of places on this page.
I went from London and the highlands - to road trip with my parents in the summer, to Seoul - to accompany my friend to see her favorite group at that time perform, Kyoto - for the foliage that I've wanted to see for a really long time, Beijing (what was I doing in Beijing?), Fuzhou - for the fishballs and tea, Singapore - for Christmas after my flatmate replied to my question "but when is it the coolest" with "it's always hot" and also Abu Dhabi - for a school event at the end of the year.
I honestly don't remember much else about 2018, penning this in 2021 when I'm updating this website, but I've decided to start writing a bit about the photos because my photography has become more pseudo documentary than purely creative, and I think 2018 was a good year to start, because this was the year I finally felt responsible enough to have a smartphone that didn't have separation anxiety from its charger (meaning the battery worked), and since I didn't have to drag my 6D around everywhere, a lot more small but beautiful moments were captured. Finally, in 2021, I finally feel comfortable enough with my writing to have it up on (even if it is a small corner of) the internet.
